Saving Isis

This is in no way related to bicycling, but does hold a priority in my heart as high as touring….my dog….and I’ve found that many bicyclists are also dog lovers, so maybe in one of those degrees of separation, this is related:

My seven-year old canine companion, Isis, is not well. Today, I take her in for emergency surgery to hopefully save her life. It costs much more money than I actually have but she’s worth a lot more than paper with pictures of old politicians on it. She’s goes in at 9am, they will give her an iv (she is considerably dehydrated and hasn’t eaten much in a week), then conduct some X-rays to confirm what the blood tests led them to diagnose. Assuming they are correct, she will go under at noon today.

I hope all turns out well for Isis and I and will convey the outcome here later tonight or tomorrow.
