Back! To The Keys

Hey folks. Long time no blog…and for me no bike. After a few cancelled attempts to bike the Western Express and a ill hatched plan to bike Cuba, I’ve finally got another tour lined up. Florida coast along Highway 1, down through the Keys to Key West. I’ve driven it years ago, but I hear the biking is great! Super excited to get out of the Buffalo cold and to get back on the Sojourn and put in some miles. I’ve got a lot of new camera equipment too, so expect some photos.

Western Express Summer 2013… All Aboard

After a 3 year absence that saw me start a career as a professional Fire Fighter/EMT and travel to several overseas destinations, I’m finally back to planning a lovely bicycle tour. This time around, I’m planning to tackle several mountain passes through the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains, revisit the spectacular red rock scenery of Southern Utah, and meditate on cruise down Highway 50 through the Northern Nevada desert, aka the “loneliest highway in America”… and I’m also looking for friends to join me. Solo missions are fun, but this time around, I’m thinking fellow cyclists might be nice. I’m considering a June or July ride, from San Francisco to Denver, taking 3-4 weeks.
