So my days have been back and forth lately. Two days ago it sprinkled most of the day, until I hit my last 30 miles which of course were through a National Forest with not a single building along the way. So once it started pouring I had no choice but to pedal thru it. I had wanted to camp but popped for the motel and used the hair dryer to dry my clothes and gear off. (The motel had an impressive TV lineup of SIX channels, which beats the five I have at home, so that was quite a luxury!!)
The next day was amazingly beautiful. A bit windy (head wind unfortunately!) but not too hot and clear all day. Great rolling hills, and another warmshowers.org place to crash. Robert was an amazing host and since he had an entire bike shop in his basement, he even helped fix a few mechanical issues and I finally rotated my tires, something that was long overdue.
Predictably, it’s super thunderstorming out this morning. Luckily, I have shelter so I’ve decided to give it a few hours to clear, which will make for a short day of 60 miles max, but it’s better than being out in this, considering I plan to camp tonight.
